Liège Summer Dance Intensive

20th edition

From Sunday 4 August to Sunday 11 August 2024 in Liège.
Open to children aged 10 and over.

For our 20th anniversary, we’ve prepared an exclusive edition, full of new features and changes (positive changes, of course), starting with an amazing teaching team!

• Myriam Simon, who has just hung up her boots as a Principal Dancer with the Stuttgart Ballet and the Grands Ballets Canadiens, has done us the honour of joining us for this 20th edition.
• Marie Doutrepont, founder of the Festival Les Hivernales de la Danse and former dancer with the Royal Ballet of Covent Garden, will be assisting Myriam. 
• Georges Oliveira, former principal first soloist with Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, will introduce you to Jean-Christophe Maillot’s repertoire.
• Olivier Coeffard, former member of NDT1 and 2, and member of the Kylian Foundation, will help you to explore Jiri Kyliàn’s repertoire.
• Marc Cloot, former international dancer, will take you away in his contemporary choreographies, where letting go is a must. 
• Elsa Godard, actress and former dancer with the Royal Ballet of Covent Garden, will be your coach for the classical repertoire, and will help you to get to grips with the stage through scenic expression.
• Aude Lomenech, former dancer specialising in anatomy, will help you find the keys to flexibility and en-dehors in barre à terre.

NEW : ballet classes will be accompanied by piano music – what a treat!

Look out! We’re moving! 
The Summer Intensive will take place in Liège city centre in the new Dance Center Le Patio, place des Déportés. 

Classes run from Sunday 4 August to Friday 9 August inclusive. On Saturday 10 August, rehearsals for the end-of-course show will take place. The schedule for this day will be announced during the course. The end-of-course show will take place on Sunday 11 August at 2pm, venue to be confirmed (we’re working hard to bring you in a magical place). Tickets will be on sale during the course. Please remember that at the end-of-course show, students will present the week’s work, as well as, their personal creations or their competition or exam variations, if they wish so. It’s an open space, where everyone can express themselves as they please, have fun, without judgement. That’s what dance is all about!

Following your numerous requests in previous years, we have finally set up a boarding school with supervision. Places are limited, so first-come, first-served. This option is separate from the Intensive registration and includes accommodation at Yust Liège in an ultra-modern style 8-person dormitory, 24-hour supervision, bus travel and full board.
